2021 Holiday Happenings in Hampton


The holiday season has arrived in Hampton! Starting now, there is a full schedule of fun events happening all season long. Break out your ugly sweater, get your hot cocoa ready, and come celebrate the holidays with us in Hampton!

The Bodacious Bazaar – November 12-14

Kick off the holiday season with a trip to the Bodacious Bazaar at the Hampton Roads Convention Center. This one stop shopping experience is the perfect way to start checking off items on your holiday lists. 

Event will take place November 12 & 13 from 10a.m – 7p.m., and November 14, from 10a.m. – 5p.m

“Holidays in the Sky” Laser Light Show – November 20 & 21 

Imagine a 30-minute laser, projection, and LED video wall screen synchronized to play your holiday favorites through your car’s FM radio. Spectators will be comfy-cozy as they watch from the comfort of their vehicle in the Hampton Coliseum parking lot. Shows will occur at 6, 8 & 10 p.m. on Saturday, November 20, and Sunday, November 21. 

Winter Whimsy at the Hampton Carousel – November 23 – December 30

Make new holiday memories while enjoying festively adorned horses. The historic Hampton Carousel will be decked out for the season while playing special carousel Christmas music. Enjoy a free candy cane. Closed Mondays, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Take a ride on the carousel before it closes for winter!

Phoebus Holiday Illumination – December 4 

Beautiful historic Phoebus will turn into a holiday wonderland on December 4, from 10 a.m.- 6 p.m.  Mellen Street will be filled with a variety of holiday crafts and goods from local vendors, food trucks, live DJ, and more! Kids’ activities, special performances, and Santa himself make this event wonderful for the whole family!

Ugly Sweater Contest at 5:15 p.m.
Christmas tree lighting at 5:30 p.m.

 

Holiday Wonder Walk – December 4-12 

Walk in a Hampton wonderland during the Holiday Wonder Walk at Waterwalk Path. Beginning at the Hampton Coliseum, the trail is decked out with lights, holiday entertainment, community trees, and more! Vendors will also be on site selling hot food and cocoa to keep you cozy during your stroll. 

The Wonder Walk will take place December 4-12 from 5-9 p.m. each night. 

Lighted Boat Parade – December 11

Cruise into the holiday spirit at the annual Downtown Hampton Lighted Boat Parade. The parade of illuminated power and sailboats will be visible from anywhere along the Hampton River. 

Enjoy a full day of activities, with Santa arriving at 2:00 p.m, and the official lighted boat parade at 6:00 p.m. Hot chocolate, holiday snacks, and adult holiday beverages will be available for purchase inside The Landing Hotel at Hampton Marina.

Holiday Drive-In Movies Series – December 11 & 12 

Spread Christmas cheer this year, with four holiday drive-in movies at the Hampton Coliseum. Holiday classics, Elf, The Grinch, A Christmas Story and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation will be shown in the Hampton Coliseum parking lot this coming December. Cozy up with your favorite blanket, and good company as you watch these classics from the comfort of your car. 

Guests will register to attend movies at 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Friday, December 11, and Saturday, December 12. 

Holidays by the Bay at Fort Monroe – December 10-12

Join Fort Monroe for a special Holiday events on December 10,11, and 12. Immerse yourself in Fort Monroe holiday traditions from the 1930s and 1940s, blended seamlessly with a modern touch. This interactive tour experience is set to be one of your go-to holiday activities for years to come.

29th Annual Holiday & Kwanzaa Marketplace – November 8- December 15 

Make the Laurel Tucker Duplessis On-Line Gift Shop your go-to destination for all your holiday shopping! start shopping HUM Memorabilia, books, jewelry and accessories, and The International Review of African Americans, for all your holiday shopping needs! Shop the online store until December 15. 

Hampton Handmade Holiday Market – December 18 

Celebrate the Holidays at 1865 Brewing company. From 12-6p.m. talented handmade artisans will be selling gifts and live local music will be playing. While at the brewery, make sure to also try the seasonal Peppermint Stout! 

Peninsula Town Center Tree 

Head over to the tree in Peninsula Town Center all season long. It is the perfect backdrop for your holiday photo, or to just take in the beauty of the season. Bring along some hot chocolate to keep you warm as you enjoy the sparkling lights on the tree. 

Joyful Holiday Experience – January 2, 2022 

Ring in the new year with Hampton Roads’ can’t-miss gospel event, Joyful Holiday Experience, coming to Hampton Coliseum on Sunday, January 2nd, 2022 at 4 p.m. Familiar faces return in this star-studded lineup: Marvin Sapp, The Clark Sisters, Ricky Dillard, and New G, Le’Andria Johnson and Charles Jenkins.
