The Peninsula SPCA’s 16th Annual Barktoberfest is back for a pupped up event on October 8 at Mill Point Park from 12-6 p.m. The shelter’s annual fall festival fundraiser will feature live music, local craft brew tastings, costume contests for pets and people with cash prizes, and games and activities for folks and their pups!

This year’s Barktoberfest will feature live music on the Woofstock Stage by Lost Soul Society and special guests, as well as fun contests made possible by VCA Animal Hospitals, Carol & Frank, and Waste Management. Plus, there will be pet-friendly vendors and local rescues with adoptable animals and the Bow Wow Beer Garden, presented by Petco Foundation and Colonial Webb, and much more.

This Fido-friendly festival will offer lots of fall activities for guests AND their pups, including a brand new talent contest, bobbing for tennis balls, and a dog cake walk! The popular and pup-tacular costume contest for pets and people will begin at 2:30 p.m. featuring two categories, Pets Only and Pets & People, and prizes will be awarded for first through third place in each category. Participants are encouraged to get creative with their costumes and dress to impress, as competition can be fierce!
