Country for Kids presented by Old Point National Bank is the annual charity concert to benefit the Center for Child & Family Services, a non-profit organization that has been serving the community since 1943.
The Center’s mission is to deliver quality counseling programs and support services that empower individuals and families to improve their lives. We empower people to face life’s challenges. We provide services such as mental health counseling from children to adults, youth and young adult substance abuse counseling, youth and adult anger management, domestic violence counseling, job readiness counseling and support services, Hispanic outreach services, credit, budget and debt counseling and financial education are just a few of of the Center’s 20+ programs that serve over 5,000 each year.
This will be our 20th year of Country for Kids and we have featured some of the best country music stars, artists such as; Sara Evans, Keith Urban, Little Big Town, Gary Allan, Rodney Atkins, Phil Vassar, Jo Dee Messina, Craig Morgan and Scotty McCreary are just a few.
Chris Janson is a Platinum-selling high octane entertainer, multi-instrumentalist, award-winning singer/songwriter, and the youngest living member of the Grand Ole Opry. His sophomore album, Everybody, produced his second No. 1 hit single, “Fix A Drink,” the chart-topping follow up to his No. 1 debut smash and summer anthem, “Buy Me A Boat.” His current single, “Drunk Girl,” is climbing the country airplay charts while being hailed by the Tennessean as “a shoo-in for a Song of the Year nomination.” Janson closed out the 53rd ACM Awards with what Rolling Stone called a “must-see performance,” and he floored his audience at Stagecoach.
